Together in Prayer

ON March 23rd in Embu, Mombasa and Nakuru, and April 6th in Nairobi, different ones in the Kenya Navigators Ministry gathered to seek The Lord, together with the worldwide Partnership of the Navigators.  These were precious times as The Lord ministered to us from Isaiah 61.  There were times of just focusing on God’s attributes through His word. Then a time of intercession for ourselves, our families, and our friends.  We also prayed for the country, the region, and mission initiatives in Africa and beyond. After prayer for our worldwide partnerships, the day was crowned by the sharing of Holy Communion. It was a rich time of fellowship with God and with one another.

The Prayer ministry in the Navigators is really as one local company presents itself to its audience: – “We are you”!  We are a part of what everyone is doing or should endeavour to do—by prayer, to have God as the focal point of life and ministry. Spending time in God’s presence and praying at all times is our way of drawing from The Vine, The Lord Jesus, so that as branches we can bear fruit, and fruit that lasts. For without Him, we can do nothing. (John 15:5)

Some of the team that gathered to pray in Embu. As we prayed, 2 young men came into the church compound and were directed to the team. One of them was under deep conviction by The Spirit and wanted to get saved there and then. After much questioning, it was clear that he had made up his mind and our brother Stephen Gathuci led him to The Lord.

Baraka Njagi and Sam Kiragu in prayer with the staff

Baraka Njagi and Sam Kiragu in prayer with the staff (Eliphas, Wakesho and Patrick) in Mombasa. It was a very encouraging time for everybody. In God’s presence there is fullness and joy. At the beginning of the prayer meeting, it seemed like a day would be too long, but we went about two hours further than we had planned to go. It was truly an awesome time in God’s presence.
