My heart was first gripped by Jesus in a physics class! Peter Buyu, my teacher had this strange way of communicating the gospel. He introduced me to the discipline of bible reading. I was eager to learn. In three months, I had read through the New Testament. My changing life impacted my family. I later learnt that Peter Buyu was involved with the Navigators. That was the beginning of my journey with the Navigators.
The safari has been subtle and strong. While in college, I sensed God’s definite invitation to an active life in ministry. As God would have it, the Navigators requested me to join the National Training Program, Eldoret. It was during this time that I meet Rhoda. We got married in 1994. The Lord has blessed us with 4 children, Jonathan (15), Hans (10), Tricia (9), and Chela (7).
In 1998 we moved to Uganda as missionaries. We worked among students at Makerere University and high schools. We also lead the Navigators Uganda as the Country Leader. We moved to Nairobi 4 years ago.
Currently, I serve as the Africa Funding Coach. I come along side staff members in the Africa region, helping them deepen their biblical convictions in the area of raising ministry financial partners. I equip them with competencies for fundraising. My desire is that all Navigator staff in Africa will raise the money needed to fund our calling dreams. As the Navigators laborers get fully funded the impact of the gospel will increase.
I know that “God will be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine on us so that His ways may be known on earth, His salvation among all nations. …” Psalms 67:1-2
