From the earliest days as young believers, through student ministry at the University of Nairobi, to being Navigators staff, parents and more, Flo and I can only but testify of how we’ve experienced God’s grace. We believe that the Lord has invited us as a family to be His representatives to the nations. We have 3 wonderful children; Nyamu (25) – an engineer working in Tanzania, Wanjiru (22) – recently recruited to manage the Navigators Kenya bookshop and Khasandi (19) a student at USIU.
Our official assignment with the Navigators is being part of the Africa Regional Staff in the area of leader development. We come alongside our Field Ministry Partners and Associate Staff to sharpen the focus of their contribution in light of their gifts, experience, future and calling. Our prayer is that: we will live out the realization of being chosen by God to be his special people as a family; and secondly, will model the things that we seek to impart to others.
Nick says, “I’m currently reflecting upon the person of Christ and discipleship in relation to our calling (Luke 9:18-27). How can we continuously engage in effective and sustained Christ-centered generational ministry? In one sense, it looks simple but in another, it is not so obvious. There are issues of growing faith in the Lord and strategy that arise. Thankfully the Lord reminds me in Isaiah 60:22, ‘The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly.’”
