It is written in the Acts of the Apostles that God made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek Him, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live, move, and exist! (Acts 17:26-28).
As we shepherd students at Kenyatta University and Alliance Girls High School, we are very aware of this truth. These students are here for a predetermined season. Their presence is an opportunity for them to know Jesus and grow in their knowledge of God. During the week I meet with a total of 48 different students. For some we meet in a large group meeting; while for others in a men’s bible study and one-on-one for others. Rose is meeting with 15 girls with an emphasis on discipleship.
Whether we are planting seeds, watering already planted seeds, or harvesting, our chief goal in ministry is motivated by Paul’s projected hopes for the Colossian Church as expressed at 2:6-7. We strive to see our flock of students walk in Christ, firmly rooted and built up in Him, established in their faith, overflowing with gratitude. Pray that we would see this happening at Kenyatta University and Alliance Girls’ High School!
