Bob & Patty Meredith

Emily and Wesley are Officers in the US Air Force; Emily in Personnel and Wesley in Engineering. Ian is now in 12th grade at Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya. Patty and I are part of the Africa Regional Team where I began serving as Africa Resources Director in 2003. Part of my job includes helping Navigator Country Leaders set up effective systems for leading their staff in funding, correspondence, financial management and communication. PRAY that the Lord will grant us wisdom, grace, creativity and clarity of administrative leadership principles to pass on to each country as appropriate.

My first encounter with The Navigators was when I was led to Christ by Navigator trained students in 1973 at the Air Force Academy. We were involved with the Navigators’ community ministry while we both taught in Atlanta for four years. From 1981-1984, Patty and I worked with the Kenya Navigators High School student/teacher’s ministry in Nakuru. We returned to Atlanta where I taught and went to graduate school for two years while Patty worked for Coca-Cola International. After 3 years of additional training with the Navigators, we went to Zambia as full-time staff in 1989 to work with students at the University of Zambia. While in Zambia, God gave us the privilege of participating in training several of our Zambian friends as labourers. In October 2002 the Zambian Navigator Ministry completed the transition to national leadership. These men and women, and those they lead, are now responsible for the Navigator university ministry, office administration, staff training and community ministry.
