Navigators Church Ministries (NCM) – formerly Church Discipleship Ministry – is a ministry of the Navigators Kenya that is committed to serving local churches and church-related institutions in fulfilling their God-given mission of making disciples.
NCM’s burden is to help churches move from making a few disciples to becoming intentional disciple making churches. Navigators Kenya staff and ministry partners across this country are devoted to developing generations of disciples in everyday life where they live, work, play, and worship.
NCM’s mission is based upon 2 Timothy 2:2 where Paul writes, “And the things you have you heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
HOW WE DO IT
Small Groups Ministries where we help churches to initiate small group bible studies. Where the small groups exist, we add value through in-house tailored training.
Spiritual Maturity by helping various church groups with appropriate discipleship materials train church members on how to facilitate the growth of disciples.
Outreach by helping small groups in churches to shift from inward to outward in terms of ministry focus by helping them to develop mission expressions that suit their contexts.
Conferences– where we have two major conferences per annum. The first conference is for bible study facilitators. Here participants exchange ideas and their experiences and benefit from speakers during the plenary sessions. The second is held towards the last quarter of the year and is open to anyone who is interested in facilitation of a bible study.
Thanks for your prayer and partnership with the Navigators Kenya, Church Discipleship Ministries.
Isaiah 54:2-3 New International Version (NIV) is on our hearts as we contemplate what lies ahead of us.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
strengthen your stakes.
3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities.
God is promising and calling on us to trust and rely on His leading in strengthening the stakes to see gospel movements permeated by authentic ekklessia in the church communities that we are engaged in.
Psalm110:3 also comes to mind and we pray for wisdom and courage that we will not be like Ephraimites and forget what He had done,His faithfulness.We desire to rely on the faithfulness of God to see the gospel advance within and beyond the church ministries that we are engaged in.
Currently, NCM Kenya, through a team of 3 staff,3 trainees and faithful disciplemaking laborers in partnering churches, is engaged in serving on the following frontiers:
2.Initiatives in Upmarket Churches
4.Cross Cultural Missions Trips/discipleship trainings in rural settings/neighboring countries in the region e.g Annual Northern Uganda Mission.
5.Initiatives for involvement in grassroots discipleship ministries in the home churches/communities of the staff and trainees.
